On September 7th 2002, I flew with a friend to the USA for a holiday in Florida.
We drove from Miami across Florida and ending our holiday in Miami as well. We visited:
- West Palm Beach
- Kennedy Space Center
- Daytona Beach
- Saint Augustina
- Orlando
- Fort Meyers
- The Everglades
- Key West
- Fort Lauderdale
- and Miami

Arjan (on the right) and I just before the Miami harbor cruise. During the harbor cruise we saw islands where some quit famous people life. Like Don Johnson, Elisabeth Taylor enz.
I look a bit like a gangster here, don't I :)

This bright yellow Ford Mustang was our rental car for two weeks. Aren't those free Hertz upgrades great? :)

This is our visit to Kennedy Space Center. This is what I'd been waiting for.

The very big assembly building where N.A.S.A. prepares the Space Shuttles for their space flights.

Here it is again. From all sides it's a big building.

The engines of a Saturn rocket. These rockets were used for the Apollo program. That's me underneath it.

Space shuttle Explorer. Need I say more...

This proto type of the space shuttle never actually went to space.

The cockpit of the space shuttle Explorer. This is the old cockpit. Nowadays the shuttles have brand new fly-by-wire cockpits.

The large fuel tank for the shuttle with the two booster rockets on either side. They just fit into the picture.

On the pier in Daytona Beach. Too bad the tide was high. Because at low tide we would be able to drive our car on the beach. Too bad, it would have been fun.

A funny looking palm tree in Silver Springs. Silver Springs has several water springs which brings up 27 million liters of 99.5% pure drinking water every day.

Shamu the 'killer whale' (with friends) in Sea World. The dolphines, otters, matenees, pinguins, sharks... were also on display.

Guess who, it's Mickey Mouse.
Disney's Magic Kingdom made me feel like a kid again.

Yes, we've been to Universal Studios. The place to be if you want to relive movies like: Back to the Future, Terminator, Jaws, Earthquake, Men in Black, Twister, The Blues Brothers, E.T. ...

The beautiful white sandy beaches of Fort Myers. This is the Gulf of Mexico, and the temperture of the water was nice and warm.

Arjan is enjoying the sun set sail on the Atlantic Ocean just out of Key West.

That would be me in Fort Lauderdale. The last day of our holiday.
All things come to an end... also this holiday.
